This is the fifth part of a 7 day series titled “7 things to learn from our app startup”. You can view the earlier parts here
Key Point: An idea is only as good as the team who executes it.
You know I’m sure, almost so sure I’d be willing to bet money on it, some day in the next year someone will come across Cyphr and say “Oh man! I had that idea”. Did you ever hear about the guy who had the “idea” for the first computer but never actually built it? No, you never have? Why not? Because an idea is only as good as the execution! Anyone can come up with an idea that can change the world. However, it takes true courage and passion to bring that idea to fruition. With Cyphr, the odds were truly against us (and still are!). We had more reasons not to do it, then to follow through and execute. “We don’t have an app developer”, “We don’t have funding”, “We don’t have experience running a startup”, “We don’t have ________”. You name it, it was more than likely going to be an obstacle in the first few months. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out in today’s world that if you don’t do it, someone else will. With Cyphr, we knew the concept we had created could be something so powerful, so inspirational, so game-changing, that we HAD to execute. We also knew it would be vital to get other people excited about the idea and the potential, since we couldn’t do it alone. Our team has been the key to getting us to where we are today. Focus on building a strong team that has similar a belief and vision, and you’ll end up with an amazing product.
